13-14u Boys Offensive Toolkit


What to Expect

This session focuses on developing strong offensive fundamentals, ensuring young athletes build confidence and consistency in both their attacking and serving mechanics. Athletes will refine their three-step and four-step approach, emphasizing proper footwork, body control, and jump mechanics for efficient attacking. Training will also focus on hand contact and follow-through, helping players generate power while maintaining control of their swing. Serving instruction will emphasize consistent tosses, clean hand contact, and a repeatable routine. Athletes will work on both standing float serves and jump float techniques, developing precision, power, and tactical placement to pressure opponents from the baseline. In attacking, players will work on hitting different angles, adjusting to set location, and making decisions mid-air to improve shot variety and adaptability. They will also be introduced to basic blocking reads, learning how to recognize defensive positioning and make adjustments to their attack. Drills will emphasize tempo control, consistent swing mechanics, and creating effective scoring opportunities. Early-season sessions will focus on building approach habits, serving mechanics, and clean contact on the ball. As the season progresses, training will introduce hitting against controlled blocking setups, adjusting to faster offensive tempos, and reinforcing decision-making in both attack selection and serve placement. Late-season sessions will challenge players to apply their skills in live, game-like scenarios, improving offensive execution and serving accuracy under pressure. Expect high-rep attacking and serving drills, footwork refinement, and decision-making sequences, ensuring outside and middle hitters develop confidence, control, and consistency in all offensive situations, from the baseline to the net. Session is limited to 6 athletes with 2 coaches.
